The Olympia Jacket Pattern
The Olympia is a classic jacket with an oversized boyfriend fit and extended sleeve cap.
This is the longest sleeve cap of the three jacket options - the Athena is higher on the shoulder and the Muse is fitted with a three piece sleeve.
This pattern has many customizable design options, all of which are interchangeable and include collars, lengths, and waistbands.
For a more fitted silhouette, we suggest you cut one size down.
INCLUSIONS
Each PDF download includes six files: A4, Letter, and AO WITH seam allowances and WITHOUT.
SIZE
A nested pattern, sized 6-26, with and without a 5/8" seam allowance option.
TECHNIQUES
Flat Fell seams, Topstitching, Plackets, Collars, manual Buttonhole options, Jeans or regular Buttons, Cuffs, Vents, Pockets, Flaps, and Grading.
SUGGESTED FABRICS
Denim, Wool, Boucle, Twill, Drill Cotton, Coating, Gabardine, Brocade or similar.
FABRIC REQUIREMENT
Approximately 2.5 yards for a size 12 WITH seam allowances included.
NOTIONS
Thread, Top Stitching Thread (optional)
Ten buttons, Light to Medium Stabilizer/Interfacing.
Denim Needles
EASE
Slightly oversized with ease included. Size up for a much more slouchy fit.
Fun Fact
The Olympia jacket is named after the Mardi Gras Mystic Krewe of Olympia.
The Mystic Krewe of Olympia was formed in 1965 by a group of businessmen who wanted to bring a New Orleans-style parade to the Northshore. The Krewe parades through Covington in the evening two Saturdays before Fat Tuesday. They are also known for their Blue Jean Ball and Battle of the Bands.
