Made to Measure Muslins / Toiles

We’ve all been there twisting in front of a mirror, spending countless hours on small adjustments, only to end up with a garment that’s still not quite right.
In 2018, I introduced a new concept at the studio, a muslin made from your personal measurements that would be waiting on your first day of a class.
This not only saved valuable sewing time, it helped students identify areas that they could adjust once home.
It became so popular, that I knew once the online community started, I would try to find a way to continue the service.
So how does it work?
Once you check out, I send an email with a measurement chart, and a notes section.
Choose your pattern from our collection, send me some pictures of you along with your chart - and I will create a muslin for you.
People are rarely symmetrical, shoulders are often different heights, hips higher and lower, backs can be slightly curved. I want to see it all!
The service includes a 15 minute private zoom, a pdf of your pattern and a free month of our community forum, which offers full access to our workroom boards and our live workshops.
Your Muslim is created and fitted by me, it will include a minimum of a 1” seam allowance, more if you prefer, and is made on 100% starched cotton, and will be marked with clear references that I can use when fitting you remotely.
Please note: If your garment has sleeves, they will be included but not attached.
When your muslin arrives, you'll send me some pictures, and I will make some suggestions before we meet online.
We work one adjustment at a time, slowly and methodically, to get you the best possible fit.
Your test garment is machine basted and will need a press before fitting. The starch increases the crease potential as it travels.
