The Joan is a fitted, classic French Jacket, with an optional stand collar, princess seams, and a three-piece sleeve.
Easy to alter, designer to flatter, and perfect for either a full quilted or lined jacket.
INCLUSIONS
Each PDF download includes six files: A4, Letter, and AO WITH seam allowances and WITHOUT.
SIZE
A nested pattern, sized 6-26, with and without a 5/8" seam allowance option.
TECHNIQUES
Create a Muslin using either a Zero Seam Allowance OR Seam Allowance, Boucles and Silks, Underlinings, Quilting tips and tricks, Fell Stitching, Pattern matching, Sleeves both by Hand and Machine, Sleeve Heads, Buttonholes, Vents, Chains, Finishings, and so much more.
SUGGESTED FABRICS
Boucle, Silks, Wools, Tweeds and Lace.
FABRIC REQUIREMENT
2.5 /3.5 yards of Boucle and Silk (depending on sizing and pattern match).
1yard Lightweight Iron-on Stabilizer (if not underlining garment) / If underlining - 2.5/3.5 yards of Lightweight Organza or similar.
NOTIONS
Basting Thread, Machine Thread, Low Stick 1/4” Masking Tape, Chain, Hooks and Eyes, Buttons
EASE
Ease will be dependent on your Boucle, Silk, Underlinings, and initial Muslin Fittings. Each of these options is covered in detail within the sew-alongs
